Glory!

Have you ever been unsure of a decision, going back and forth, considering the possibilities over and over? Have you then ever had the experience where God has shown you the right choice, or given you confirmation that you have chosen wisely? I have had the most amazing experiences with this! I have absolutely no doubt that God is 100% real, and that He deeply cares about us and all the details of our small, somewhat insignificant lives. You see, nearly seven years ago, I was about to start school at good old EdCC, and I was more than a little nervous, going in at 16, as a homeschooler : S
So when my alarm went off, one of my then favorite songs came on- and I decided that any day that starts with a good song will be ok. Sure enough, it was! I had a real peace about the whole thing. My experience there was great, and I was really glad I had done it.
Two years later I was applying for a job because I had decided to take a year off from school to work. I had a few interviews that were fairly discouraging, and it seemed like nothing was going to work out the way I wanted it too. Then, as I was getting ready for a third interview at a different location, the same song came on- coincidence? Not likely. It was that moment that I realized that I serve an incredibly powerful God who has the ability to care for me so tenderly as to show His love for me through a song. Since then, that song has come on the radio a few times that I have heard, always at the times when I need to remember most that God has a plan for me and that He's in control. Once when I was contemplating quitting my job because I wasn't satisfied, once when I was torn between two job possibilities.
And now- I heard the same song on the radio just yesterday- at first I was befuddled. Could this song which has always before been a message to me from God just be on the radio for no apparent reason? Surely not! And then it hit me- I had been offered a job the week before - an office job that was being handed to me on a silver platter with no questions about past office experience and all that, and yet I turned it down after much diliberation. I was questioning whether or not this was crazy, but to hear that song again- I know I made the right choice! How awesome is that? Therefore, I'll conclude with my favorite verse, which I think is ever so applicable.

"Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." Romans 15:13

That is really wonderful Lydia! I know you made the right choice, what a perfect assurance.
Hey, I remember that little nervous feeling heading off for my first "real" class at 17. Somehow it's hard to imagine that being scary now, isn't it? Just something we should all remember when we lack confidence or fear anything. There is also a rather good song, sung by a certain nun, about having confidence... Though praise the Lord, our confidence is in Him, not just ourselves:)

Hmm, Lyd has the day off... Maybe that means we get a new post?:) Thanks for the verse, it is currently being memorized!
