Typically, March is my least favorite month. It always seems to be a never-ending blur of rain, wind and cold, dragging on for ages after one warm week in February that had everyone convinced that spring was on it's way.
This year, I'm trying to see the best in it. I've decided that if I look for little, subtle signs of spring along the way, it might not seem so bleary.
Sure enough- today I noticed that for the first time this year, the grounds crew at my apartment had mowed all the grass! After months of soggy, scraggly dormancy, things are growing again!
Also, many of the trees along my drive to and from work (the extent of my natural scenery these days) have begun to show hints of red or yellow as they begin to bud.
There are some daffodils along the walk to my mailbox that are turning more yellow everyday, just waiting to burst forth in a proclamation of the season.
I know today is nice and sunny, and we will soon be back to the rain and cold, but I know that spring is on it's way...
