Well, last night was my first night of youth group, again! That's right, I'm back in high school, but this time as an adult staff member! I must say, the games are much less intimidating when you are ten years older than the average age of the kids. I am so excited to see what God is going to do- we were only expecting six or so kids, and we had 11 show up.
If you think of it, please pray that the youth group will grow, both spiritually and numerically, and that God would use us leaders in a powerful way. I never thought I'd be doing this, but I was thinking about the incredible impact my time in youth group had on my spiritual life. I am excited to be helping with a ministry that might do the same for today's youth.

Yea! Another youth group leader from the LOFT!!! I'm teaching Sunday School for Jr. High Girls and then I'm working with our Jr. High youth group when I can. It's been fun so far. It's also been somewhat challenging because this youth group's dynamics is really different from what mine was like back at home. It's also been a boost spiritually because I realize how I need to daily examine my life and seek God because a lot these kids can "see" when you aren't living what you are saying. I hope you have a blast. Now we can share good youth games and ideas!! I was picking Erin C.'s brain a few weeks ago for new game ideas. So, now I have someone else!!! Take care!
Are the 11 kids from church or not from church? Wow it has gotten small.. but I guess that's to be expected with a change of youth pastor. Is Cindy helping out too? Or too busy with little kids?
Hey, you've entered my line of work. Welcome to what i do for a livnig. Isn't it great? Em's right if you need ideas or someone to bounce thoughts or swap prayer requests with i am available. I love my job, and i am so excited that you are working with youth. It's a challenge. 2things you need to know that I learned from youth ministry classes: All ministry is grace! and Stay fresh with Jesus!
I can't tell you how often i forget these things, and how much i wish i practiced them/remembered them more often.
love ya,
erin
Thanks girls! Right now we just have church kids, but we are going to a corn maze on Friday, and hopefully some of them will be bringing friends. We'll see!
