That is my new favorite word. Well, not really, but it seems to apply to most every situation as of late. Everything I do or say, especially when I try to make snappy comebacks, something just goes wrong...
Today at work for example. I came super close to selling a coffee maker to a customer, and I was telling my manager all about it. I was describing the customer, who is a regular of ours, and telling him all about it, when a co-worker poked me and pointed out to the lobby, where she was calmly sitting sipping her coffee. Thwarted!!! I'm just hoping at this point that she didn't hear me describe her as looking just like the fairy godmother from Shreck 2! (which she does, by the way!)
Here's another one- some crazy person was telling me that coffee is gross, and I tried to say, "maybe it's just a sophisticated taste" but it came out all wrong, like "sophistiphicated" making me sound completely un-.
Thwarted!!!
