A bit has changed since my last post about work. Since then, I was offered a transfer to a different store, and refused it (which my boss was really glad about, so that's a plus!), and then I had an awful night closing with two people who seemed determined to make my night as difficult as possible. I was really close thinking about quitting at that point, because it really didn't seem worth the stress!
Anyway, since then I've come to the realization that I have been completely lacking in trust. I don't know why, but I always lose sight of the fact that God has a plan for my life, and that He's working it out day by day. There's never a situation that He's not in control of, and that He didn't plan specifically for me, so I need to stop freaking out!
My pastor was talking this morning about how life is a journey, and that God already has the whole thing mapped out for us. Then I was talking to my wonderfully wise mom, and she told me that she was reading a book that talked about the fruit of the Spirit. She said that we think, "Oh right, the Fruit of the Spirit- that's love, joy, peace...etc." and then we forget the rest- especially Patience, which is the very next in the list. Even if God has a plan for me, I get so sidetracked because I have very little patience, especially when I am waiting to find out things because I am left out of the loop and don't know what's going on!
So pretty much I'm back to square one. But, I'll just keep praying for patience, contentment, and trust- which were the big three for me while I was in college. Why is it that the lessons we learn just keep coming back again and again?

We have to keep going back to those lessons over and over because we FORGET them over and over :).
(Don't worry, that's everyone, not just you :D)
Well the whole lack lack of trust thing seems to be going around a lot lately Lyd! I think you hit the nail right on the head with the importance of patience though. "Stay still in the hands of the potter", as we would sing to Mrs. Judd. Funny too how in the end it really comes down to giving up the control of our lives to God~ ironically, control we never even really had! How much better to learn to be content with "what'ere our lot."
By the way, you have a lot to be content about, you are a wonderful girl:) Hope you are doing well despite all your worries; we all need to do something fun again before the end of spring break, when MY worries will start to multiply exponentially once again:)
I concur!
